I'm only taking two classes (9 credits) this semester.
Beginning Field Practicum & Social Welfare Policy
Social Welfare Policy is about, well, policies. We have to write a 10 page paper and do debates, among other things.... not so excited.
Beginning Field Practicum is not only our practicum hours, but we also have assignments to do in class.
Speaking of practicum, it's going very well. Right now I am seeing 4 patients (all of whom I adore!). We have a new social worker and her teaching style & my learning style are very complimentary. I'm excited to do more with her.
I feel like I'm doing well and have a pretty easy time getting to know the patients and earning their trust and friendship.
My time in the office is getting better. I'm getting to know the staff better and am feeling a little more comfortable.
My practicum advisor, who is also the Director, always calls us a "work family." It's really true. Everyone get along and the whole building just has a good feeling about it. It's nice.
SO, if you ever want to do something mostly all day Wednesdays, Thursdays after 2:00 and Saturdays before 3:00 are great!!
PS Everyone should be so proud of me, I haven't gone to bed pat 1:00am yet this semester. This early to bed & early to rise stuff stinks!
PPS Anthony's parents come home from their mission on Thursday!!!
